Description   This beautiful pewter bamboo cast salt and pepper shaker set is made from premium pewter and is sure to become a favorite family heirloom. Tapping into the age-old skills of Thai village artisans whose craftsmanship heritage has been passed along for generation after generation for centuries, each piece of work is skillfully and elaborately handmade. The top quality pewter used in these beautiful creations contains 90% tin and 10% silver, copper and antimony. It is completely lead free. Craftsmen make this pewter by melting tin in a cast iron pot. Copper disolves in molen tin at a relatively low temperature. Once disolved the antimony is added without the temperature going over 750 degrees. After cooling and thorough stirring the combined metal is poured into ingot moulds. The whole process is done piece-by-piece -no mass production here.
